Body of Christ Ministry Uganda has established a Community Insurance Scheme with a written policy that explains who qualifies for assistance and the benefits provided. Our goal is to strengthen unity by encouraging members to care for one another in practical ways.
Although community insurance often focuses on healthcare, our scheme goes beyond medical support. Members contribute small monthly or annual amounts into a common fund. When a member experiences a covered event or demonstrates a positive behavioral change, they may qualify for assistance.
For example, a member who has successfully completed rehabilitation and whose village can testify that they have abandoned substance abuse may receive startup capital to begin a new life. The scheme also provides agreed benefits such as medical treatment and hospital bills, funeral expenses, emergency financial assistance, maternity care, disability support, and other community-approved assistance. It may also support weddings or recognize non-believers who choose to follow the life and teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. All assistance is provided according to the scheme's written policy.
The scheme also helps members pay for emergency medical care, assists families with funeral expenses, supports widows, orphans, and vulnerable households during crises, and provides emergency assistance after floods, fires, or crop failures.
A well-managed Community Insurance Scheme reflects the biblical principle of believers sharing one another's burdens and caring for those in need (Galatians 6:2; Acts 2:44–45) while providing practical support during difficult times.
Support our Community Insurance Scheme and help us bring hope, dignity, and practical care to those in need.
